Girl Scouts: Building New Mattress Shed at Camp

June 17 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Free

Remember that summer feeling — that feeling of freedom, excitement and possibility? You wanted to pack every moment with something fun. You were in charge of your adventure, and it was awesome. Help Girl Scout Summer Camp be the gateway for that summer feeling for girls in the Ozarks.

One of our sleeping units houses a shed that is used to store mattresses while not being used. The shed is no longer a safe or viable storage solution – it is time for it to be replaced! You will be tearing down the old shed, removing the debris, and building a new shiny one it’s place! Folks with building experience would be a real plus on this project.

We work hard on Day of Caring to make sure you know how appreciated you are – especially when it comes to feeding you. Come enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, our Girl Scout hospitality, and change the lives of girls in our community.

For this project, you’ll want to wear clothing that you don’t mind getting messy in. The area is shaded woods. Dress for the weather, but keep in mind that bugs don’t care how hot it is!
