Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland: Camp Finbrooke – Build A Camping Unit

We have four sleeping units at Camp Finbrooke – but most people wouldn’t know that! That’s because the fourth unit “Sassafrass” has been unused for many years. It’s our most rustic camping unit – designed to accommodate older girls in tents. The platforms set up for the tents are deteriorated, and need re-built. That’s where you come in! Construction or DIY experience helpful, but not required.

Help us build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place! Our outdoor program pillar is an essential part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience – and we can’t get camp ready for next year without YOU!

We work hard on Day of Caring to make sure you know how appreciated you are – especially when it comes to feeding you. Come enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, our Girl Scout hospitality, and change the lives of girls in our community.

For this project, you’ll want to wear clothing that you don’t mind getting messy in. The area is shaded woods. Dress for the weather, and bring bug spray.
