Girl Scouts: Spruce Up Our Cabin Unit!
June 17 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pmFree
Remember that summer feeling — that feeling of freedom, excitement and possibility? You wanted to pack every moment with something fun. You were in charge of your adventure, and it was awesome. Help Girl Scout Summer Camp be the gateway for that summer feeling for girls in the Ozarks.
One of our sleeping units had new cabins built last year. Unfortunately, they are still not quite complete! Affectionately known as the “Smurf Huts,” these cabins are raised units that are protected on all sides by canvass. The Huts need painted and to have the temporary tarps replaced with the canvasses. The rest of the unit area needs brush cleared and generally spruced up. By the end of the day, your team will be able to see what a big difference they made in the camp experience for area girls!
We work hard on Day of Caring to make sure you know how appreciated you are – especially when it comes to feeding you. Come enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, our Girl Scout hospitality, and change the lives of girls in our community.
For this project, you’ll want to wear clothing that you don’t mind getting messy in. The area is shaded woods. Dress for the weather, but keep in mind that bugs don’t care how hot it is!
