Ozark Trails Council, Boy Scouts – Landscaping and Trail Clearing
June 17 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pmFree
This half day project will involve volunteers helping landscape and clear trails at the Ozark Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America’s Springfield Office, located near Hwy. 65 and Sunshine. In particular, volunteers will be asked to help trim branches around the office property. In the back of the property there is a nature trail that will also need some tender loving care. Volunteers will weed eat, clear, and clean the trail so that it can be used by the entire Springfield community as they please. The Ozark Trails Council will provide all equipment necessary and take all COVID health precautions required. The project will take place outside (exclusively) and will allow for social distancing, face masking, sanitization and hand washing.
Scout volunteers are often asked to help landscape the office property and clean/ maintain the community trail. With the help of Day of Caring Volunteers, the council does not have to rely on the parents of Scouts to help with this annual project. Instead, trained adult volunteers can focus on delivering a quality and proven youth development program for our community’s youth.
